Wilma and the Rainbow Feathers
Wilma and the Rainbow Feathers
In the meantime, Aspen had slipped into the living room. She had placed the bag under the table and rolled off her wet socks.
“Nice and warm,” she said and stretched her toes towards the radiator.
“So, what are you doing here?” asked Wilma. “Are you going to move back to the country?”
Aspen shook her head causing her black pigtails to bounce around. Then she sneezed and blew her nose on the hem of her skirt.
“Hardly! But there’s a family reunion tomorrow and I wouldn’t miss that for the world.”
It is winter and Wilma is alone in the cottage in the country. It’s been a long time since she last saw Aspen the girl-vätte, but she has now turned up quite unexpectedly. In the bag she has a secret, which should cause a sensation at the family reunion. Unfortunately it doesn’t quite go to plan. Vättes are usually good at magic, but Aspen definitely needs some practise.
In the middle of the forest lives the dog-keeper with his nasty fighting dogs. Wilma has been forbidden to go there, but nevertheless she goes along with Aspen who wants to visit her beloved uncle Berry. It’s in the forest that a whole lot of exciting things happen: they capture a dachshund, save uncle Berry from poisoning and try out his sausage machine.
It could have gone really badly when the horrid dogs capture Aspen, but she is rescued by something red and shining, after which a red feather floats down to earth… Could it have something to do with Rosella, Aspen’s missing mother?
In the midst of everything Wilma finds out that she and her father may have to sell up and move. It’s her mother’s fault, because she wants the money for her new house. It’s lucky that Wilma has Aunt Siri to confide in.
